Perianal Abscess

A perianal abscess is a painful, pus-filled infection near the anus, caused by blocked anal glands or bacterial infections. It often results in swelling, redness, severe pain, fever, and pus discharge. Common risk factors include constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, and weakened immunity. Treatment typically involves surgical drainage to remove the infection, along with antibiotics in some cases. Without proper care, it may lead to a fistula, an abnormal connection between the anal canal and skin.
